Welcome to the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) Student Job Board!

Thank you for your interest in using the HKMU Student Job Board. HKMU Student Job Board is an online job platform for employers to post their job openings for recruitment purposes, and for HKMU students and graduates to pursue job opportunities. This service is provided free of charge by the Student Affairs Office at HKMU.


Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before using the platform. By continuing to register for an account, you will be deemed to consent to these Terms and Conditions.


Abbreviations

“HKMU”: Hong Kong Metropolitan University

“Platform”: HKMU Student Job Board

“SAO”: Student Affairs Office of Hong Kong Metropolitan University

“Users”: Eligible employers and HKMU students/graduates who have registered their account on the HKMU Student Job Board


Terms and Conditions

  1. Employers wishing to post job vacancies and HKMU students/graduates wishing to explore job vacancies, must first register an account on the platform. 

  1. Employers must provide comprehensive and accurate details about the company, position, job description, work location, job requirements, and application procedure. Employers are required to submit a valid Business Registration (BR) Certificate (or equivalent) for verification. Expired BR Certificates will be considered invalid. Account registration and job posting requests without valid supporting documents will not be processed. 

  1. All information and job postings on the platform must comply with the Hong Kong Law, in particular the Employment Ordinance and the Minimum Wage Ordinance. If the remunerations package is less than the statutory minimum wage, the employer should seek confirmation of “Student Interns” or “Work Experience Students” status from the student/University.   1. SAO will not accept postings from an employer who does not practice equal opportunity. Job postings should apply equally to all, and the job description should not contain any discriminatory elements (e.g., preference about candidate’s gender, specific height requirement, physical fitness, good health, marital status), which may violate the Sex, Disability, Family Status, or Race Discrimination Ordinances.

  1. Non-local HKMU students who possess a valid student visa/entry permit and a “No Objection Letter” (NOL) issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department may take up part-time on-campus employment and off-campus summer job in the specified valid permission period. Users are reminded to ensure they have all the necessary visas and NOL before engaging in any form of employment.   1. In compliance with the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance, information provided by HKMU students/graduates will be used solely for selection and employment-related purposes. The related personal information will only be made accessible to relevant staff involved in the recruitment process.

  1. All Users, particularly the employers, should not use this platform to recruit indirect employees or engage in any activities that involve levying fees or making profits. 

  1. All activities carried out by the Users should be legal and in compliance with the Hong Kong Law. Users should not display or transmit threatening, offensive, obscene, pornographic, or harassing materials, nor should they interfere with or disrupt other network users, services, or equipment. These include, but are not limited to: distribution of unsolicited advertising, propagation of computer worms and viruses, destructive or disruptive codes, junk or spam messages, and harassment of users. Illegal acts may be subject to civil and/or criminal liabilities.

  1. SAO reserves the right to monitor the platform at any time, but is not obliged to do so. By uploading content to the platform, the User agrees to provide accurate and complete information. Users are solely responsible for all activities related to their account and agree to keep their password secure and confidential at all times. It is prohibited to share, transfer, or sell a User account to other parties, and a User Account shall never be used by, or made available to, any person or entity apart from the registered User of such User account. Users are fully liable for any use and/or other activity carried out with their account.

  1. SAO takes no responsibility for any materials input by any Users and not posted by SAO. SAO shall not be held liable in the event of any disputes, loss or other situations that may arise.

  1. SAO owns the platform’s entire contents, including but not limited to, information, data, text, graphics, images, design, layout, photos, files, logos, video, audio, HTML, and other proprietary materials on the platform, which are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of intellectual property/proprietary rights. Users are strictly prohibited from copying, modifying, transmitting, reproducing, distributing, displaying, selling, publishing, licensing, or broadcasting the content under HKMU Student Job Board for any purpose without the prior authorization from SAO.

  1. SAO has the right to grant and terminate User access rights as appropriate. SAO may, at its sole discretion, edit, remove, delete, or refuse any content from Users for any reason without notice to the Users. Outdated information will be periodically removed from the platform.

  1. SAO reserves the right to change these guidelines at any time and without prior notice. In case of any dispute arising from the guidelines, the decision of SAO shall be final.
